Sr. Architect (AEM)

The Sr. Architect, Adobe AEM is responsible for guiding, delivering and leading creative and scalable systems and software solutions that address business/technical needs or challenges for our clients. As a senior member of Adobe Practice this person should be a seasoned veteran on Web Content Management solutions; must have multiple successful implementations of Web CMSs with particular expertise on Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Marketing Suite in general. The right candidate will play a key client-facing role on Adobe projects and provide technical leadership by effectively managing design and implementation on AEM platform. You will have broad infrastructure expertise, a solid understanding of software development challenges and can define standards and best practices to ensure consistency and high quality of software design and implementation. If you are interested in a position where you will work with enterprise-class web content management systems then this is the ideal position. He/She would also be responsible for providing technical leadership throughout the lifecycle of projects. This ranges from platform selection through the design, user interface, and technical implementation of projects, and includes interfacing with client technology and management teams.


  • Acts independently, or leads a group, while maintaining responsibility for detailed systems analysis and design, during proposal development, project implementation, and large scale web infrastructures
  • Structure and manage complex, large scale, multi-track projects
  • Articulates the client’s problems, primary business drivers, and develops conceptual, logical and physical solutions that address those needs.
    Leads architecture and design of high impact projects while meeting functionality, performance, scalability, reliability, and time to market needs.
  • Participates in client meetings and presentations to set expectations and to discuss client responsibilities, requirements, initiatives, and concepts.
  • Identifies, defines, creates and applies innovative architectural design patterns and standards to extremely complex problems.
  • Be a mentor to colleagues, a team player with an entrepreneurial attitude
  • Provide thought leadership internally and externally by writing blog posts, articles, white papers or hosting webinars.
  • Lead, define and maintain best practices and development of reusable tools/frameworks and repeatable processes.
  • Compiles System design and technical specifications documentation and oversee development efforts
  • Provides accurate estimates of the effort required to develop and deploy technical components of overall solutions.
  • Provides hands-on development support to project teams where necessary.
  • Maintain a strong understanding of the industry and enterprise-wide trends and best practices
  • Identify and manage risk on projects


  • Should be a seasoned veteran on Web Content Management solutions; must have multiple successful implementations of Web CMSs with particular expertise on Adobe Experience Manager and Adobe Marketing Suite in general.

  • Demonstrated requirements analysis, conceptual, logical and detailed design skills
  • Understands development models and methodologies, including Scrum, as well as traditional waterfall methods.
  • Maintains broad knowledge of current industry technologies, methodologies and designs, and their applicability and appropriateness in various solution architectures.
  • Expertise in multiple technology platforms/languages such as Java, J2EE, C#, .NET, etc.
  • Ability to manage multiple complex projects simultaneously
  • Bachelor degree in concentrations of computer science, management information systems, computer/mechanical engineering or closely related field
  • Seven plus years of relevant progressively responsible experience of which:
    • Two years of software development experience demonstrating basic programming skills, application analysis, and testing
    • Two years developing J2EE Web applications with a content management focus
    • Three years as lead developer or application architecture/enterprise architecture
  • Must have one or more of the following certifications ACE – AEM Architect, AEM Developer, Adobe AEM Advanced developer, Adobe AEM Systems Administrator
  • Prior experience in a consulting or agency environment
  • Must have strong competency in Adobe Experience Manager (AEM) or Day Communique (CQ5) with strong architecture skills
    • Experience with building AEM Components, Widgets, TouchUI, Sightly development
    • Experience with implementing OSGI Services, Servlets, and Components
    • Experienced with client-side and server-side integrations eg. Search Integrations, Authentication Handlers, WebServices Integrations, CRM Integrations, CDN Integrations, etc
  • Competency in other Content Management Systems such as Tridion, Sitecore, Oracle UCM, Crownpeak, FatWire is highly desirable.
  • Experience with 2 or more WCM/ECM products is preferable
  • Systems integration and development, and package implementation
  • Experience integrating search technology (Autonomy, Endeca, FAST, etc.) is a highly desirable
  • Experience working with E-Commerce platforms is highly desirable (eg. Digital River, Hybris, Elastic Path)
  • Experience integrating with at-least one CRMs (Salesforce, Marketo, Eloqua, etc.) is preferable
  • Experience in designing, implementing and supporting enterprise-level applications
  • Experience providing a vision to the total solution, managing a track of work and defining a comprehensive solution leading toward a common vision
